Carne Asada Steak Tacos

Description

Steak marinated in garlic, fresh cilantro, jalapeno, and a hint of lime. Served with refried beans and warmed tortillas.

Prep Time 15-20 min. | Medium
Thaw in refrigerator.

  1. Preheat broiler to high heat.
  2. To spice rub bag, add 1/4 tsp. kosher salt. Close and shake to combine.
  3. Remove steaks from marinade, discard marinade. Sprinkle one side of the steaks with 1/2 of the rub.
  4. Broil on high heat. Apply remaining rub to second side of steak and continue cooking until desired doneness:
    125°F for rare (about 5-6 min. per side)
    135°F for medium rare (about 6-7 min. per side)
    145°F for medium (about 7-8 min. per side)
    155°F for well done (about 8-10 min. per side)
  5. Let steaks rest 5 min., then cut across the grain into thin strips.
  6. Meanwhile, wrap tortillas in foil and place in broiler for 3-5 min. to warm.
  7. Place refried beans in microwave safe dish and heat for 3-5 min.
  8. To serve, place sliced steak and refried beans in warm tortillas and top with salsa.
